Mit Titel in Rot und Schwarz, gestochener Titelvignette, 111 gestochenen Tafeln sowie einigen gestochenen Vignetten und Initialen. Paris, Jombert, 1738. VII, 180 S. 4°. Ldr. d. Zt. mit RVergoldung und zwei goldgepr. RSchildern, Marmorvorsätzen und Rotschnitt (etwas berieben und bestoßen, Rücken restauriert).

Berlin 2400. Millard I, 25. - Jacques-François Blondel (1705-1774) war ein französischer Architekt. Nachdem er viele Jahre lang eine eigene, sehr erfolgreiche Architekturschule geleitet hatte, wurde er 1762 zum Professor an der Académie Royale d'Architecture ernannt. - Der Begriff "Maison de plaisance" (dt. "Lusthaus") umschreibt barocke Landschlösser, welche als Rückzugsort der wohlhabenden Gesellschaft dienten. Der vorliegende zweite Band des Werks befasst sich sowohl mit Innen- und Außenverzierungen als auch Gartenplänen. - Einige wenige Bll. mit stärkerem Braunfleck am Innensteg. Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt und leicht fleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.

Architecture – Architecture - With title in red and black, engraved title vignette, 111 engraved plates and some engraved vignettes and initials. Vol. 2 (of 2). Cont. leather with gilt decoration on spine, gilt spine label, marbled endpapers and red edges (somewhat rubbed and bumped, spine restored). - First edition, second issue. - Jacques-François Blondel (1705-1774) was a French architect. After running his own successful school of architecture for many years, he was appointed professor at the Académie Royale d'Architecture in 1762. - The term 'maison de plaisance' (pleasure house) describes baroque country palaces that served as a retreat for wealthy society. This second volume of the work deals with interior and exterior decorations as well as garden plans. - A few pages with heavier brown staining to the inner margin. Paper somewhat browned and slightly stained. Overall in very good condition.
