Pole Poppenspäler. Mit Suite von 15 OKupferstichen von Baldwin Zettl auf Hahnemühle-Bütten (mit Wz.), je signiert, nummeriert, datiert und bezeichnet, sowie Tafeln mit Repros der Kupferstiche. Detmold, Thuja-Presse, 1989. 115 (5, u.a. Druckverm.) S., 15 Taf. u. 15 Taf. (Suite). 4° und Folio. OPbd., zus. mit OMappe der Kupfertaf. in OKassette, diese bezogen mit handgeschöpfgem Roma-Bütten.

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Nr. 13 von 30 (Gesamtaufl. 145) Exemplaren. - Mit den 15 als Suite beigebenen Kupferstichen Zettls', einem der herausragenden Graphiker der Leipziger Schule, klar und kontrastreich abgezogen auf breitrandigem Kupferdruck-Bütten der Hahnemühle, je mit zweiseitigem Schöpfrand. Das Buch im Druckvermerk händisch nummeriert und von dem Künstler und Ernst-Reinhardt Ehler, dem Schriftsetzer und Drucker, signiert. Erster und einziger Druck der Thuja-Presse. - Die 1875 (Wilpert-Gühring 26) erstmals veröffentlichte Novelle "Pole Poppenspäler" zählte zu den bekanntesten Werken Storms für ein junges Publikum. - Einband gering griffspuring, der Kassettenbezug minimal berieben, sonst ausgezeichnetes Exemplar der ersten Vorzugscharge dieses aufwändigen bibliphilen Drucks mit den eindrucksvollen, phantastisch-realistischen Kupfern Zettls. - Beigabe: Plakat, illustr. Verzeichnis und 2 Einladungskarten zur Ausstellung "Baldwin Zettl. Kupferstiche 1969-190", Galerie Taube, Berlin.

Modern Literature and Art – No. 13 of 30 de luxe copies, containing a suite of 15 original copper engravings by Baldwin Zettl, printed on large-format voluminous Hahnemühle laid paper with wide margins, each signed, numbered, dated and titled by the artist. - A superb copy of the de luxe edition of this lavish bibliophile endeavour, consisting of the book with Theodor Storm's text and illustrated with repros of the Zettl's engravings, the publisher's paper slipcase with the suite, all in a cardboard slipcase covered with handmade Roma laid paper. The book numbered by hand and signed by the artist and Ernst-Reinhardt Ehler, the typesetter and printer, in the colophon. First and only print of the Thuja press. - The novella 'Pole Poppenspäler', first published in 1875 (Wilpert-Gühring 26), was one of Storm's best-known works for a young audience. - Binding slightly finger-stained, slipcase minimally worn, otherwise an excellent copy with impressive engravings in phantastic-realistic manner by Zettl, an reknown graphic artist of the Leipzig school. - Enclosure: Poster, illustrated catalogue and 2 invitation cards for the exhibition "Baldwin Zettl. Kupferstiche 1969-190", Galerie Taube, Berlin.
