Punktuell auf Unterlage montiert und im Passepartout freigestellt. Auf dem Papier verso signiert, datiert und bezeichnet "oben". Nochmals verso auf dem blauen Metallpapier "oben" und "59". - Papier verso leicht fleckig. Das blaue Metallpapier mit Knickspuren an den Ecken, Randeinrissen (der längste ca. 0,5 cm) und Läsuren. Insgesamt gut.

Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Grüß-Wigand, Grüß, Matt C-1959/2. - Wir danken Frau Christiane Grüß für die die Authentizität bestätigende Beurteilung der Arbeit. - Provenienz: Privatbesitz Berlin. - Ausstellung "Willem Grimm, Ernst Hassebrauk, Josef Hegenbarth, Albert Wigand" in der Galerie Christian Zwang, Berlin 2002. - Der Zeichner, Collagist und Maler studierte bis 1913 an der Düsseldorfer Kunstgewerbeschule. Den Drang, sich künstlerisch auszudrücken, behielt Wigand auch während seines Einsatzes im Ersten Weltkrieg, wo er 1916 in der durch Deutsche besetzten Stadt Rethel in Frankreich seine erste Ausstellung hatte. Mit dem Kriegsende begab sich Wigand nach Berlin, wo er Christian Rohlfs und Curt Hermann begegnete. Es folgen die Dresdener Jahre ab 1925 bis 1970, in denen Wigand eine avantgardistische Formensprache entwickelt, zugleich jedoch Landschaftsansichten erschafft, mit denen er sich während der Wirtschaftskrise der 1920er und 1930er Jahre sowie des Zweiten Weltkrieges existenziell absichern kann. Nach 1945 reduziert er die Formensprache noch einmal wesentlich und wird abstrahierter. Er wendet sich vermehrt dem Medium der Collage zu, arbeitet mit verschiedenen Materialien, sodass unsere Arbeit von 1959 eine für die späte Werksphase personaltypische Arbeit darstellt.

Signed, dated and inscribed "oben" on the verso of the paper. "oben" and "59" again on the verso of the blue metallic paper. - Paper slightly stained on the verso. The blue metallic paper with creases in the corners, marginal tears (the longest approx. 0.5 cm) and losses. Good overall. - We would like to thank Mrs Christiana Grüß for assessing the work on the basis of photos. - Provenance: Private collection, Berlin. - Exhibition "Willem Grimm, Ernst Hassebrauk, Josef Hegenbarth, Albert Wigand" at Galerie Christian Zwang, Berlin 2002. - The draughtsman, collagist and painter studied at the Düsseldorf School of Arts and Crafts until 1913. Wigand retained the urge to express himself artistically even during his deployment in the First World War, where he had his first exhibition in 1916 in the German-occupied town of Rethel in France. At the end of the war, Wigand travelled to Berlin, where he met Christian Rohlfs and Curt Hermann. This was followed by the Dresden years from 1925 to 1970, during which Wigand developed an avant-garde formal language, while at the same time creating landscape views that enabled him to secure his livelihood during the economic crisis of the 1920s and 1930s and the Second World War. After 1945, he significantly reduced his formal language once again and became more abstract. He increasingly turned to the medium of collage, working with different materials, so that our work from 1959 is a work typical of his late phase.
