Lot 600 Stefan Wewerka u. Dieter Roth. Pegasus. 1972. Radierung auf …
Pegasus. 1972. Radierung auf Bütten. 49 x 64 cm (63,5 x 77,5 cm).
Online - Modern and Contemporary Art – Etching on laid paper. Signed and dated by both artists. - Slightly creased in the margins and with occasional, minimal stains. Otherwise very good. Excellent, nuanced impression and wide margins. - Dobke 407. One of 200 copies. - The etching "Pegasus" is the result of an unusual collaboration between Stefan Wewerka and Dieter Roth. Both were known for their experimental and often humorous approaches - Wewerka for his deconstructed furniture objects, Roth for his work with organic materials and unconventional media. The depiction of the mythological horse appears fragmented, ironic and deliberately imperfect - a symbol of creative freedom and a playful approach to artistic traditions. The etching reflects the dialogue between two unconventional minds who saw art as an open field of experimentation.
