Berg mit Schneeresten. 1993. Öl auf Leinwand. 66 x 120,5 cm. Signiert und datiert. Die Leinwand zusätzlich verso signiert, datiert "Anf. April 93", ortsbezeichnet "Faucon" sowie betitelt. Gerahmt. - Nur mit geringer Oberflächenanstaubung. Insgesamt sehr gut. Kraftvolle, expressive Komposition in frisch erhaltener Farbigkeit.

Ostdeutsche Kunst – Teil der Ausstellung "Max Uhlig. Am Mont Ventoux. Bilder aus Südfrankreich 1991-1993". Ostfildern, Cantz Verlag, 1994. S. 74, Nr. 49 (mit Farbabb.). - In den frühen 1990er Jahren erlebte Max Uhlig eine fruchtbare Schaffensphase, in welche der Künstler in der Provence lebte und arbeitete. Inspiriert von der spröden Sinnlichkeit der provencalischen Landschaft übersetzte Uhlig die Eindrücke der facettenreichen Landschaften in großformatige Arbeiten und brach mit traditionellen Bildaufbauten, indem er Farbe und Form als Hauptträger der Bedeutung betonte. Die Werke entstanden vorwiegend im Freien und spiegeln eine natürliche Entladung aufgestauter Energien wider. Hierbei sucht Uhlig "(...) in der Landschaft als kultivierter Natur (...) den verborgenen natürlichen Urgrund, indem er mit der eigenen, in seinem Subjekt verschlossenen Naturhaftigkeit auf sie zu reagieren trachtet, mit dem eigentlichen Ziel, sich von Natur zu Natur mit der Landschaft zu vereinigen. East German Art – Oil on canvas. Signed and dated. The canvas additionally signed, dated 'Anf. April 93', inscribed 'Faucon' and titled on the verso. Framed. - Only with minor surface dusting. Very good overall. Powerful, expressive composition in vibrant colours. - Part of the exhibition 'Max Uhlig. Am Mont Ventoux. Bilder aus Südfrankreich 1991-1993'. Ostfildern, Cantz Verlag, 1994. p. 74, no. 49 (with colour illus.). - In the early 1990s, Max Uhlig experienced a flourishing working period in which the artist lived and worked in Provence. Inspired by the brittle sensuality of the Provençal landscape, Uhlig transformed the impressions of the richly nuanced landscapes into large-format works and broke with traditional pictorial structures by emphasising colour and form as the main elements of expression. The works were mainly created en plein air and reflect a natural discharge of accumulated energy.
