Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – With 2 folded leaves. Later leather with rich floral gilt decoration and gilt label on spine, red edges (restored scuffs). - First Paris edition in the year of the Venetian first edition by Aldus. - Not in BP16. - Cardinal Pietro Bembo (1470-1547) was historiographer of the Republic of Venice and librarian at St. Mark's Library. - From the collection of Adrien de Gasparin, with the stamp on the title page. - The folded leaves with several defects. Somewhat waterstained. Occasionally with a few contemporary handwritten marginalia. Good copy.
