Station 12: Die künstlichen Sonnen. Aus: Sahara Edition. 1972/75.

ZERO – Colour silk-screen, collaged with embossing and sand, on strong wove card. In original object box with glass, silkscreened on the verso. Signed and numbered. Typographically inscribed label by Junior Galerie on the verso. - Object box's metal frame wtih finger stains, very isolated traces of rubbing, pale paint trace at bottom on the verso, suspension slightly rusted, overall very good. Splendid, richly coloured and wonderfully nuanced impression of the full-size depiction. - One of 130 copies. - Printed by Möller Hofhauspresse, Düsseldorf, published by Junior Galerie. - Published as 12th print of the 13 parted series. Mack develops his Sahara project as early as 1958 and publishes it in the third "ZERO" issue in 1961. He designed an artistic realm in the desert composed of 13 stations. The sandy area offers him a vast landscape untouched by human hand in which he can realise his idea of light kinetic rotors and dynamos with the greatest possible artistic freedom.

Result: 2100 €
