Blindgeprägter Schweinslederband über Holzdeckeln mit 8 punzierten Eckbechlägen mit Schutz-Buckeln und 2 Schließen (leicht fleckig und etwas berieben).

Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – Prachtvolle Lutherbibel in kräftigem Kolorit. - Zweiter nahezu satzgleicher Druck der erstmals 1564 erschienenen (siehe VD16 B 2759) illustrierten und hier kolorierten Lutherbibel aus der Verlagsgemeinschaft von Georg Rab (gest. 1580), Sigmund Feyerabend (1528-1590) und den Erben des Weigand Han (1526-1562). - VD16 B 2767 - Schmidt, Lutherbibel, 245-262. - Darlow-Moule 4209 - Die detailreichen und architektonisch-perspektivisch ausgeführten Holzschnitte von Jost Amman (1539-1591) nach Zeichnungen von Hans Bocksperger (1510-1561). Die Illustrationen erschienen erstmals 1564 als Bilderalbum "Neuwe Biblische Figuren des Alten und Neuen Testaments" ebenfalls bei Rab, Feyerabend und Hans Erben. "Die tiefe Verbundenheit des Künstlers mit dem Text offenbart sich im Alten Testament auf Schritt und Tritt. Es ist ein echtes Suchen nach konkreter Vorstellung der heiligen Geschichte, die turmhoch über dem hohen Pathos der späteren Bibelillustration steht" (Schmidt 246f.). - Zu Beginn der ca. ersten 25 Bll. mehr. Bll. mit fachmännisch ergänzten Randfehlstellen, Bl. 41 mit seitl. kleiner Randfehlstelle, wenige Bll. mit kl. Läsur im weißen Unterrand, (außerhalb des Textes), etwas fingerfleckig bzw. leicht gebräunt, gelegentlich mit kleinen Wasserrändern, insgesamt gutes Exemplar in dekorativem (späteren) Kolorit.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Splendid Luther Bible from 1567 in bold colouring. 3 parts in 1 volume. With 3 coloured title pages, col. dedication leaf (with woodcut portrait) and 138 coloured woodcuts in text by Jost Amman. Folio. Blind-tooled pigskin binding over wooden boards with 8 punched corner bands with protective bosses and 2 clasps (slightly stained and somewhat rubbed). - At the beginning of the first 25 fol. several leaves with expertly repaired marginal faults, fol. 41 with small lateral marginal fault (outside of the text), somewhat fingerstained resp. lightly browned, occasionally with small waterstains, overall a good copy in decorative (later) colouring.
