Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – VD16 I 595 (für das angebundene Werk). - Frankfurter "Taschenausgabe" mit den Porträts der Grafen von Holland nach der Folio-Ausgabe von Plantin im Jahr zuvor. Barlandus (1486-1538) war ein bedeutender niederländischer Historiker. Er studierte in Gent und Löwen, wo er nach einem mehrjährigen Aufenthalt in England 1526 zum Professor für Rhetorik ernannt wurde. - Vorsätze teils erneuert. Titelbl. mit zeitgen. hs. Aannotation. In der ersten Hälfte etwas wurmgängig. Teils etwas fleckig und leicht wasserrandig. Insgesamt wohl erhaltenes Exemplar.
Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – 2 vols. in 1 vol. With portrait woodcut title, two woodcut printer's marks and 36 portrait woodcuts. - Bound: see above. Cont. vellum with ornamental blindstamping, Spanish edges and spine label (somewhat stained and rubbed). - Frankfurt "pocket edition" with the portraits of the Counts of Holland after the folio edition by Plantin the year before. Barlandus (1486-1538) was an important Dutch historian. He studied in Ghent and Louvain, where he was appointed professor of rhetoric in 1526 after a stay of several years in England. - Endpapers partly renewed. Title page with cont. annot. Somewhat wormy in the first half. Partly somewhat stained and slightly waterstained. Overall a well-preserved copy.
